Shopping guide: Micro-retail storefronts now open at Centro Railyard in South End
The hippest shops in Charlotte aren’t opening in SouthPark or Northlake malls. They’re on the streets of South End in 400-square-foot micro-shops and shiny new storefronts.
The big picture: Even before the pandemic, new and trendy retailers were choosing new and trendy South End developments over traditional malls.
Being able to shop in an open-air setting like at Centro Railyard is a big draw for health-conscious shoppers.
Where things stand: Twelve of the 15 micro-retailers at Centro Railyard are now open. Retailers coming soon include Morelia, a gourmet paleta shop; Kika Stretch Studios, a fitness studio; and Boba Baba, which will sell boba tea and pastries.
